CHRIS LAVIDAS

Chris Lavidas has been playing the drums since he was 15 years old. He has played in different bands, produced an album, and developed instructional drum videos. Along with taking drum lessons for many years, Chris coupled his knowledge of music with self-study, learning all styles of music and developing solos for these different styles. Chris has a knack for learning, where he continually studies and practices to enhance his personal playing and teaching skills. Chris began giving lessons in his parents' basement in 2003. While earning his MBA with a concentration in Management, Chris slowly built up his business and eventually moved into a commercial space where his music school was born. The school has since built up and transformed into a full service music school, offering music lessons for every prominent instrument. Additionally, Chris and his team implemented master classes to help enrich a student's education and provide music recitals for student performances. In addition to Breaking Grounds in Music, Chris also founded Breaking Grounds in Drumming, Inc. He facilitates drum circles, drum therapy sessions, presentations, and other musical programs to senior homes, senior centers, institutions for people with developmental challenges, and schools all around the Chicagoland area. Chris also started a student organization at Roosevelt University known as Breaking Grounds in Business. This was an entrepreneurial organization designed for students who aspire to start their own business. Breaking Grounds in Business received an award for Outstanding Student Organization of the Year, and Chris currently serves as Student Alumni of this organization. Chris works for the glory of God and loves to impact people's lives. He resides in Palatine, IL, with his family.
